With our fully equipped state of the art Mobil Catering Kitchen, Maison Culinaire is capable of staging any event requiring a last minute cooking on site. Whether assembling Hors d ‘ Oeuvres, finishing touch on delicate sauces, on site baking and other cooking method required, our chefs are able to execute all in our mobile kitchen. Cold food are stored in the mobile kitchen refrigerators ensuring correct temperature control and hot food is kept in our hot holding box keeping quality at peak before service. Chef Sus Grondin-Butler CEC founded Maison Culinaire in 1997 after years of experience in owning a restaurant, working as an executive chef in Hotels, Country Clubs, Conference Centers, Catering Companies and an Airline In-Flight Kitchen. A native Indonesian and grew up in London, she came to United States to pursue her masters’ degree in Anthropology intending to focus on teaching and research. Although she never worked in this field, she retained a deep appreciation of the tremendous variety of culture in the world. It is natural she specializes in global cuisine. Her ability to create world cuisine gives her clients endless choices.
Sus is also an avid competitor in culinary competition, which has awarded her with many gold medals and honors. What are most important to her are her customers. Armed with a wealth of culinary knowledge, Sus blends her impeccable culinary talent with artistry creating edible work of art enjoyed by Maison Culinaire customers.
Director of Marketing and Sales
Kristen is our Director of Marketing and Sales. Graduated her bachelor’s degree in public relations and political science she brings great communication skills and marketing savvy.She is also responsible for managing Maison Culinaire Social Media. Armed with her natural talent in sales, she initiates contact and visit venues, wineries, event planners in the Washington DC Metro area to promote our services. Her aggressive approach in making cold calls is only one of her great talent; she also has a talent and the eye for creating beautiful marketing pieces. Kristen is a competitive swimmer and coaches swim teams from the very young to Olympic hopeful and ride horse when she is not at Maison Culinaire.
Chef Luis is one of our catering chefs. He brings a multitude of experience including ice carving. His talents in ice carving have won him many gold medals in national ice carving competition. His vegetable carving creates beautiful presentations for our cold platters. He is a natural leader to our culinary team for our offsite catering. Great teacher, he loves to share his culinary knowledge with our cooks. Everyone loves to work under leadership because he makes hard work and sometime long hours fun but he means business when it comes to flawless service.
Sulma joined Maison Culinaire not knowing about commercial food preparation. Working under the supervision of Chef Butler, Sulma have excelled to a productive and efficient cook. She is passionate about cooking and always learning new cooking techniques.She is one of our key team member in preparing orders for Maison customers weather it is for a small group or a major catering order for 2000 guests. She has come a long ways since she joined our culinary team and is ambitious, dedicated and loyal second to none.
Transportation and Logistic
One of the most important aspects for offsite catering is transporting our food, beverages and equipment without any spills or damage to our equipment. Wuilmar’s talent in packing our catering vehicles is an integral part in delivering our catering orders to our destinations in one piece. He is also our handyman, whether it an electrical, mechanical or any small problem that needs fixing, Wuilmar comes through every time.
